KPI governance reporting operating model
Report sprawl is often a symptom of organizations solving the same analytical question repeatedly in different places. Over time, duplicated business logic and local spreadsheet fixes create friction for both operators and executives.
Governed KPI definitions create a cleaner operating model. When a metric is defined once, validated, and reused consistently, reporting becomes easier to maintain and easier to trust. Stakeholder conversations move away from reconciling numbers and back toward actual decisions.
The practical objective is not fewer reports for its own sake. It is a reporting environment with a clear source of truth, controlled variation, and enough structure to scale without constant rework.
